And now my Taiwan adventure comes to an end. I am back home again in the Netherlands and can look back to a very successful “Designer in residence” period in Taipei.
My last week in Taiwan was very hectic but great to have some time to see more of the countryside.
After the workshop I had the change to present the proces and outcomes during the Silver Lining Global Meet-up. Here is a short description of the event:
This infomal bi-monthly gathing hosted by Silver Linings Global invite people from all walks of life to come together in a relaxed way to confront serious issues, whether it is to share the latest technology and innovation trends, or conduct in-depth discussion about aging issues facing Taiwan or overseas.
The day after I was going to visit the hometown of Jodi Chen in Laggung. I got to meet her on a little party and she invited me to show me around. It was really nice to go out of the city and see something more of the little villages life in Taiwan. We also visited a Hondao community centre and a 97 year old woman at her house. She was telling us that wearing make-up and taking care of her face was very important. Without is she is not going outside. Good to know for the future!
I love the hands. You can see so much life in it.
On Thursday it was a big day for the elderly in Neihu. It was their graduating ceremony. They all looked really beautiful and were very proud and happy to receiving another Hondao diploma. I made them all a little and colorful bow as a reminder of the great time we had during the activities.
I like her sparky and glitter shoes!!
I am really proud of all of them, they are such amazing people!
Art Happening organized a lovely dinner for me. Big thanks for the team who were supporting and helping me developing my project. Without all these professionals it wasn’t possible.
