MATCH to open the garage doors at VDMA during DDW
Co-creation 3.0 in the heart of Eindhoven
Dreamers and designers, thinkers and doers, executives and entrepreneurs, go-getters and guests, will come together this Dutch Design Week in a new and surprising venue – the VDMA complex. The garage (decades abandoned and unused) is part of the woodwork in the center of Eindhoven, though few have ever crossed its threshold. Following a fast and furious facelift, it is now ready for its debut as the youngest DDW location. From 17–25 October, the space – dubbed MATCH – will stand for a new take on urban development and groundbreaking co-creation.
A select group of participants from the world of design, technology and specialized knowledge will collaborate with local and international visitors to start the movement. The space will host performances and exhibitions; a unique designer football cage (where you actually can play football); a pop-up restaurant; and an educational program with workshops on sustainable entrepreneurship and building a circular economy. It promises to be a diverse program that tackles social issues while remaining accessible to a wide audience.
Come by and get to know the gang, including Jo Meesters and Jeanne van Beers, Niels and Rene Bakkerus (Biki90), Siem Nozza (DIT), René Paré (MAD), Ineke Hurkmans (Jump), and Oscar Kneppers (Rock Start), just to name a few. Mayor van Gijzel, Councilman Torunoglu and many more interesting and engaging guests will also be joining in the VDMA during DDW.
No visit to Dutch Design Week 2015 will be complete without an excursion to MATCH. Check the attachment for the complete program.
17-25 October, open daily from 11:00-23:00
MATCH, VDMA, Vestdijk 27 Eindhoven

A bit of History
The VDMA building was an old car garage as you can see on the pictures below. The building was empty for a long time and it’s really great to see how the organisation of MATCH – DDW transformed it in a new creative playground!
